37th ANNUAL PROBATION
DEPARTMENT STAFF RECOGNITION
On March 31, 2022, the Santa Barbara County Probation
Department held its 37th Annual Staff Recognition via Zoom.
The virtual ceremony honored Probation personnel for their
accomplishments in 2021. Opening remarks were given by
Chief Tanja Heitman, Presiding Judge Gustavo Lavayen, and
Board of Supervisors Chair Joan Hartmann. Award recipients
included:
Support Staff of the Year: Sr. AOP Buffy Harrington (North
County) and Sr. AOP Lesley Stewart (South County)
Pretrial Staff of the Year: AOP Betty Olea
Institutions Staff of the Year: Los Prietos Boys Camp Sr. DPO
Crystal Crockett and JJC Sr. DPO Jeremiah Gerue
Deputy Probation Officer of the Year: DPO Miguel Ochoa
(Santa Maria), Sr. DPO Mike Rivera (Santa Barbara), and DPO
Bonnie O’Neill (Lompoc)
Supervisor of the Year: Sr. AOP Michelle Perez-Ybarra
Bulldog Award: Adult Probation Division
Star Award: JJCSPOs Miguel Monge, Tiffany Phillips and Lesli
Stamm, and Probation Manager Barton Clark
Chief’s Award: Probation Manager Elizabeth Krene
The 2021 pin recipients included employees with 10, 15, 20,
25, and 30 years of service. Thanks to all staff for another
wonderful year!
